Privacy policy
Last updated October 3, 2026. NineCatHoops is a free hobby site run by one person. It keeps as little as it can.
What we keep
- Your account: your username and a password hash (scrypt with a random salt). We never store or see your password itself.
- An optional email, only if you give one. It is used for one thing: sending a password-reset link when you ask for one. No newsletters, no marketing, never shared or sold.
- What you save: rankings settings, your watchlist, saved mock drafts, leagues and their moves.
- Yahoo leagues you import: the league's public data (settings, team names, rosters, matchups, transactions). We remove manager identities, chat links and images before storing it. Raw responses are deleted after 7 days.
- Activity days: which days your account was used (a date, nothing more), so we can count how many people come back.
- Server logs: each request's path (without the query string), status, timing and your IP address cut to its network part (the last part removed). Our host keeps these logs for a limited time.
What we don't do
There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts: every script and font is served by this site. We set one cookie, a signed session cookie that keeps you logged in. It expires after 14 days.
Who processes data for us
- Railway (United States) hosts the site and its database.
- Cloudflare provides our domain's DNS and, when enabled, stores encrypted daily backups of the database (Cloudflare R2). Backups are kept for 30 days.
- Resend sends password-reset emails (it sees the address and the message).
Deleting your data
Log in, open Account and choose Delete account. Your account and everything saved with it are deleted at once. Copies in backups disappear as those backups age out, within 30 days. You can also remove your email there at any time.
Children
The site is not meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly keep their data.
Contact and changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and significant changes will be noted on the home page.
